For the tenth straight year, the Sporting Kansas City Academy are Kansas State Youth Soccer Association State Cup champions. The SKC Academy U-12 and U-13 won their championship matches yesterday at the U-13 and U-14 levels, respectively. Both teams will now compete at the U.S. Youth Soccer Region II Championship which will take place June 23-28 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
U-12s
Playing up an age group, the SKC Academy U-12s finished the U-13 group stage 3-0-0, scoring 10 goals and conceding just once. Head coach Matt Trumpp’s side defeated Soccer Nation Academy 5-1 before beating KC Fusion 3-1 in the championship match.
