The Swope Park Rangers (9-9-6, 8th place) lost 2-0 to Portland Timbers 2 (11-10-3, 6th place) at Children’s Mercy Park on Saturday night. An early goal from Timbers 2 in the seventh minute would prove to be difficult to gain an equalizer and the Rangers' winless streak would reach seven.
In the fourth minute, Tyler Blackwood had a beautiful ball and nutmeg pass to Sporting KC loanee Colton Storm. Storm was at a difficult angle to get the ball off and his attempt would go directly into Portland’s Alex Mangels hands.
Portland’s Marvin Loria would send a through ball to Jeremy Ebobisse who skipped the ball through Christian Herrera’s legs and would put Portland on the board in the seventh minute.
