Sporting Kansas City II (2-5-1, 7 points) suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Louisville City FC (4-3-1, 13 pts.) at Lynn Family Stadium in Kentucky on Wednesday night. It was the seventh straight road game for Sporting II, while Louisville were enjoying their seventh consecutive home match.
Sam Raben scored his first goal for the club off Dillon Serna’s first assist to briefly pull the socre back to 2-1 midway through the first half, but Louisville ran out comfortable winners following a brace from Corben Bone and goals from Cameron Lancaster and Napo Matsoso.
Louisville got off to a dream start in the 11th minute when Antoine Hoppenot broke in behind the Sporting II backline and his cross picked out Lancaster, who chested the ball down before slamming home his fifth goal of the season.
