Our USWNT deserves better

The soccer parts of the interwebs are burning up today with news of five stars from the US Women’s National Team filing a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission over the lower pay the Women’s Team receives relative to the Men’s Team.

As a fan of soccer in the Kansas City area, I especially want to thank KC’s own Becky Sauerbrunn for filing the complaint, along with Carli Lloyd, Megan Rapinoe, Alex Morgan, and Hope Solo. Their past performances have made these five women stars and leaders of women’s soccer in the US. Their stature and direct involvement in the sport makes them the only ones who can effectively raise issues surrounding the poor treatment and sub-standard compensation players for the USWNT receive.
