Last week, the NWSL announced the preliminary list of eligible players who will participate in the 2016 NWSL College Draft. Among those listed, there are two names who stand out to this writer as players that, if possible, FC Kansas City may want to look at drafting on January 15th.
Emily Sonnett has been a star for the University of Virginia women’s soccer team. She has also been a part of the national team with her first international call up in October, where she played next to current FC Kansas City center back Becky Sauerbrunn against Brazil. In November 2015, she won the ESPNW 2015 Soccer Player of the year award and recently was also nominated for the MAC Hermann Trophy.
