Lindsey and USA qualify for U-17 World Cup, advance to CONCACAF U-17 Championship final

Sporting Kansas City Academy defender Jaylin Lindsey and the U.S. U-17 Men’s National Team qualified for the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup and the 2017 CONCACAF U-17 Championship with a 6-2 win over Cuba in the team’s final game of the classification stage in Panama City, Panama.

Lindsey (No. 2 in the picture above) played the full 90 minutes in central defense after starting three previous matches in the tournament at his natural right back position. Indiana Vassilev, Andrew Carleton, Zyen Jones, Bryan Reynolds and Tim Weah scored for the U.S., who also received an own goal during an offensive barrage that saw the Americans put 14 of 23 shot attempts on target.
