It began, as I am sure many a maelstrom has, with a tweet (now deleted) from Sporting Kansas City’s striker Dom Dwyer, saying that some goodbyes were harder than others before tagging Krisztian Nemeth. I along with several other bloggers who write about Sporting KC retweeted it, openly noting that Dom was (is) known for his online trolling, but it appears Dom’s tweet was genuine, giving final credence to the transfer rumors that have been swirling around Nemeth for days now.
Per a press release from the club, Sporting KC has transferred Nemeth to Al-Gharafa SC in the Qatari league, which has been riding the wave of petro-dollars to land talented luminaries such as the Spanish national teamers Sergio Garcia and Xavi.
