The Kansas City Comets are expected to announce the signing of Kansas City native Kevin Ellis. Sources indicate the former Sporting Kansas City defender will join the Comets on a multi-year contract and could be available as soon as this weekend when the Comets host the rival Milwaukee Wave.
Ellis was Sporting Kansas City’s second homegrown signing, spending 7 years with 68 appearances and 5 goals for the club. When Ellis and SKC parted ways he signed with the Chicago Fire and later moved to DC United to close out the season.
Ellis joins former MLS star Landon Donovan as the most recent MLS players converting to the indoor game.
