The pessimists among us can rightly observe that Sporting’s roster isn’t as good in 2016 as it was in 2015. Justin Mapp and Brad Davis are both talented players, but they’re not able to singlehandedly change a game the way our departed Nemeth could.
The optimists among us can expect a new signing to step into the roster, the Young Number 9 Who Was Promised. The optimists can expect that this as-yet-unnamed player will pick up the scoring slack left by Nemeth’s departure–and more.
I fancy myself more of a pragmatist than either a pessimist or an optimist (but then again I would, wouldn’t I?
