So the dust has settled after the chaos that was the first day of the MLS SuperDraft, with the second day (consisting of rounds three and four) set to take place this week. The question at hand for Sporting Kansas City fans is: was the draft-day trade to jettison their #11 overall pick for a reported $125,000 in Garber Bucks (er, “Targeted Allocation Money”) a trade that needed to be made?
Beyond the club’s areas of need (which have been analyzed quite a bit already this offseason), there are two factors at hand in considering that question: what players did Sporting KC leave on the board, and was the $125,000 in TAM worth them doing so?
