Swope Park Rangers forward Hadji Barry became a naturalized citizen of the United States last Thursday during a ceremony at the Lied Center of Kansas in Lawrence.
“It means a lot to me to finally become a citizen of this country," Barry said. "This country has done a lot for me since I arrived here 12 years ago and I am more than thankful for everything. It was a special day for me and my family for all the sacrifices we have made throughout this journey.”
Barry, the Swope Park Rangers Team MVP in 2018, led the squad in scoring with a career-high 19 goals this season, including goals in 11 of the club's last 12 games.
