Major League Soccer teams are allowed 28 roster spots and Sporting KC have filled 25 of them as of today, December 29, 2015. That means Sporting Kansas City has the ability to sign at least three more players (not to mention nearly a full roster for the Swope Park Rangers). First, let’s take a look at where the roster stands as of today.
The above roster comes from the official MLS Roster page for all the leagues 20 teams. As you can see, they lump a lot of players into the midfield role, but realistically Bernardo Anor, Connor Hallisey, Justin Mapp, Jacob Peterson and Graham Zusi are all going to likely play forward in Peter Vermes’ 4-3-3 system.
