eMLS Cup, which was scheduled to take place in Austin on March 21, has been postponed, Major League Soccer announced Tuesday. eMLS Cup was set to be a part of South by Southwest before the festival was canceled on Friday amid concerns surrounding the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
"The cancellation of SXSW by the City of Austin has resulted in eMLS Cup — which was an official SXSW event — no longer taking place on March 21 as part of the conference," read a statement from MLS. "eMLS Cup will be postponed and the league will share updated details regarding our plans for eMLS Cup at a later date.
