Below is the list of MLS players who are eligible for Free Agency ahead of the 2017 season. Free agents can now engage in negotiations with MLS clubs outside of their previous club. The current list includes three players from Sporting Kansas City's 2016 roster: defender Chance Myers, midfielder Justin Mapp and forward Jacob Peterson.
Players 28 years of age and older with eight MLS service years who are out of contract, or have had their option declined, are eligible for Free Agency, allowing them the freedom to negotiate a new contract with any MLS club, including their previous club, subject to certain restrictions.
