With the start of the Major League Soccer season just 12 days away, Sporting Kansas City continues to shape their roster. Yesterday they brought in forward Kenny Cooper for a trial and today they have released midfielder Amobi Okugo.
Okugo was acquired last summer in a trade with Orlando City SC that sent Servando Carrasco the other direction. Sporting KC appear to have gotten the worst of this deal. According to MLSSoccer.com Okugo made three appearances for a total of 108 minutes for Sporting last season (I can only recall two appearances).
