While Sporting Kansas City became the first team to qualify for the 2019 CONCACAF Champions League back in September of this year, the final spot in next year’s Champions League was finally decided this past week. Honduran side, Olimpia, with former Sporting KC defender Ever Alvarado on the roster defeated Costa Rican side Santos de Guapiles on penalty kicks after the two sides split 1-0 wins on the road in their series. Alvarado started and played the full 90 minutes for Olimpia in the final game this past Wednesday.
