Former Kansas City Wizards first round draft pick, Matt Taylor has joined the MLS coaching ranks, joining Real Salt Lake as an assistant coach. Taylor, who had a long club career in the German lower divisions after stints with the Wizards and Chivas USA, had been an assistant at UCLA before joining the staff for RSL. Taylor played just one season for the Wizards after being drafted out of UCLA in 2004. He made 17 appearances and four starts as the Wizards won the Western Conference and the US Open Cup, and advanced to MLS Cup where they lost 3-2 to DC United.
