Former Sporting Kansas City academy player, Max Rugova turned down a contract with the Swope Park Rangers before the 2018 season, instead choosing to try his luck abroad. Rugova eventually signed with FC Nurnberg in Germany and played with their U19 team for the 2018-2019 season. He appeared 12 times, scoring one goal in the U19 Bundesliga’s South/Southwest division. With the season over, the club decided which players they would be keeping and which would move up to the U21 team. Unfortunately, Rugova was not one of those players and has left the club. He’ll be looking for a new club for the 2019-2020 season if he decides to stay in Europe, or he could also look to return to the US.
