The NWSL Challenge Cup continues in suburban Salt Lake City this past week with every team now having played two to three games. One of the players that has been impressive for their team in the tournament so far is Kansas City native Shea Groom. Groom was acquired by the Houston Dash in February of this year from Reign FC (now OL Reign). It was her third team in the three years since FC Kansas City had their franchise rights purchased and the team moved to Utah. In the 2018 and 2019 seasons with Sky Blue FC and Reign FC, Groom scored just two goals a piece.
