The 2021 MASL season came to a conclusion this past weekend in California as the Ontario Fury hosted the San Diego Sockers for the series. San Diego won the first leg on Friday night 7-3 continuing their strong run in the post season. Sunday night the Fury won the second game 6-5 in overtime to force a game 3 mini game to see who would win the championship. The Sockers scored with just under a minute left in the period to win 2-1 and win the MASL championship. The Sockers team had four players on the roster with ties to Kansas City with former Wizards and Comets player Boris Pardo in goal, former KC draft pick, Mitchell Cardenas on defense, former UMKC and Comets player Guerrero Pino, and former Comets player Travis Pittman.
