The MLS offseason continues with its different drafts as yesterday, the second stage of the Re-Entry Draft took place. With the first pick in the stage, FC Cincinnati took former Sporting Kansas City defender, Saad Abdul-Salaam. Abdul-Salaam had spent last year with the Seattle Sounders playing in 18 games, starting 11 of them as the Sounders won MLS Cup. At the end of the season he had his option declined by the club and with the selection by Cincinnati, they now hold his MLS rights. It’s not a guarantee that Abdul-Salaam will sign with the second year team, as he could choose to sign elsewhere, including the USL Championship, where he’d been loaned to Phoenix Rising back in 2018 when he was with New York City FC.
