Training for the 2000 NFL Draft didn't feel like a new pursuit for Todd Pinkston.
After graduating from Southern Miss in the winter of 1999, Pinkston moved to New Orleans for a few months to begin preparations for a grueling draft season. He worked out at least twice a day, mixing cardio and weight lifting with speed and agility training to trim precious tenths-of-seconds off his scouting combine workouts.
Preparing for the NFL Draft became Pinkston's full-time endeavor. But this wasn't as big of a shock to his system as you'd expect.
"It was constantly an every day grind," Pinkston told the Clarion Ledger.
