The Southern Miss baseball team may be entering the most difficult slate to start a season since Scott Berry took over the program 10 years ago.
The Golden Eagles play host to Purdue at 4 p.m. on Friday in the first of three games to open the 2019 campaign at Pete Taylor Park in Hattiesburg. Game 2 is set for 4 p.m. on Saturday and first pitch for Game 3 takes place at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
USM will have nine games against teams that earned postseason bids a year ago over the first 10 contests.
