Southern Miss fell to 0-3 this past weekend after suffering a 66-24 loss to Tulane.
The 42-point difference was the Golden Eagles' worst defeat since Nov. 8, 2014 in a 63-17 homecoming loss to Marshall. It was unofficially the most points Southern Miss has given up in a game since suffering an 83-0 loss to Mississippi College in 1928.
"I'm embarrassed," Southern Miss coach Scotty Walden said. "Our team is embarrassed. That's not the way we want to lose."
Walden's message in the locker room was to not let up on the gas once the team takes an early lead.
