HATTIESBURG - Todd Monken handed over play-calling duties to Chip Lindsey prior to the 2015 season.
That decision proved fruitful for both parties. Southern Miss has enjoyed one of its finest offensive campaigns in school history and Lindsey, the Golden Eagles' offensive coordinator, has parlayed it into a job at Arizona State. He will serve as the Sun Devils' offensive coordinator.
Sports Illustrated's Thayer Evans first reported the news late Thursday. Azcentralsports.com confirmed the move.
Lindsey replaces Mike Norvell as offensive coordinator. Norvell was recently named the head coach at Memphis. Lindsey is likely in line for a hefty salary increase.
