The Southern Miss secondary may be the most experienced position group Jay Hopson’s got.

But a wide gap exists, in terms of experience, between the first wave of safeties and cornerbacks and the second.

Seniors Cornell Armstrong, Curtis Mikell and Trae Collins are in line to start at cornerback and see the bulk of playing time there. At safety, senior Tarvarius Moore and sophomore Demetrius Market have emerged as likely starters. And seniors Picasso Nelson, Jr., and Kelsey Douglas are expected to handle much of the duties at the nickel spot.
