HATTIESBURG - In an effort to have his 10-year show-cause penalty overturned, former Southern Miss men's basketball coach Donnie Tyndall told the Hattiesburg American Wednesday he has filed an appeal with the NCAA's Infractions Appeals Committee.
In April, the NCAA's Committee on Infractions found Tyndall guilty of multiple violations including failure "to promote an atmosphere of compliance" and attempting to cover up wrongdoings related to academic misconduct and allegedly arranging impermissible financial aid to student-athletes.
In an exclusive interview with the Hattiesburg American on Wednesday, Tyndall said he will continue to fight the ruling "until my name is cleared.
