FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas — The pitching well ran dry for Southern Miss Sunday.
And, boy, did Dallas Baptist capitalize. The Patriots hit five home runs, after hitting four in Saturday’s win over Oral Roberts, to beat the Golden Eagles 9-4 at the Fayetteville regional. The loss ends Southern Miss’ season at 44-18. Dallas Baptist advances to face Arkansas at 7 p.m., needing to beat the host Razorbacks twice to reach the Super Regional round.
The Patriots jumped out to an early lead and never took their foot off the gas.
