RUSTON, Louisiana — Pitting the top two passers in Conference USA against each other, certainly the arms would hog the spotlight. But it was what quarterbacks Jack Abraham and J'Mar Smith did on the ground that gave the showdown between Louisiana Tech and Southern Miss its legs.
With the Bulldogs trailing 27-24 entering the fourth quarter, Smith picked up two yards on fourth-and-1 to the USM 4 to keep his offense's chances alive.
