Southern Miss tops Southeast Oklahoma State

Kourtlin Jackson scored 17 first-half points to help send Southern Miss into the break with a 36-21 lead over Southeastern Oklahoma State Tuesday at Reed Green Coliseum.

The senior guard’s strong start also gave the Golden Eagles the juice they needed to finish off the Savage Storm 66-52. The victory snapped a two-game skid and is the team’s third win in its last five games.

Southern Miss improves to 3-8, while Southeastern Oklahoma State, a Division II program, falls to 4-6.

“It’s always good to get a win,” said Southern Miss head coach Doc Sadler. “Especially when you do some things you’ve been talking about for two or three days in practice.
