PEARL — A splendid Southern Miss baseball season keeps on going, this time at the expense of in-state rival Mississippi State.
The Golden Eagles won their eighth in a row Tuesday, beating Mississippi State 7-5 at Trustmark Park in front of an announced crowd of 5,198.
“We’ve done a lot of things well,” Southern Miss coach Scott Berry said. “There’s a lot of people that have contributed to our wins so far this season. Everyone seems to be accepting their roles, and buying into what we’re trying to do.”
This is the Bulldogs' fourth loss in a row, dropping the team to 12-10 overall.
