EL PASO, Texas - Jay Hopson will never give a win back.
Especially not a 34-7 triumph such as the one Southern Miss earned Saturday over UTEP at Sun Bowl Stadium. On the surface, the outcome appears to be the result of a consistently dominant, error-free performance on the Golden Eagles’ part.
Not so, according to Hopson.
“Winning in (Conference USA) and winning on the road is always tough,” he told the Hattiesburg American following the contest. “So it’s good to get a W. That’s always a good feeling. (But) we’re certainly looking forward to putting four quarters together.
