The Southern Miss Golden Eagles took on the Mississippi State Bulldogs in Starkville.
Here's the recap.
Mississippi State quarterback Tommy Stevens went 9-of-10 for 105 yards and two touchdowns before going out with an injury late in the final minutes of the second quarter, giving the Bulldogs a 21-0 halftime lead against Southern Miss Saturday afternoon at Davis Wade Stadium.
When Stevens went out, Bulldogs true freshman quarterback Garrett Shrader stepped in, throwing a pass for 10 yards and leading Mississippi State on a six play, 52-yard drive that ended with a 13-yard touchdown run by Nick Gibson.
