HATTIESBURG - Thanks to a two-RBI walk-off single by Tim Lynch, Southern Miss downed C-USA foe UTSA 6-5 on Thursday night at Pete Taylor Park.
Karan Patel came in the game for UTSA to start the ninth and tried to shut down the Golden Eagles, but two walks and a single juiced the bases for Tim Lynch. Lynch did not disappoint as he singled down the first base line to score two runs and win the game for USM.
Southern Miss goes to 17-7 on the year while UTSA drops to 10-11.
The Roadrunners shelled the Southern Miss bullpen to the tune of five runs on 10 hits, with four of those runs coming in the top of the fifth inning.
