With the offseason in full gear, Southern Miss coach Jay Hopson will be tasked with finding a new offensive coordinator.
Buster Faulkner, who served as the Golden Eagles offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in the 2019 season, was hired by the University of Georgia to the position of offensive quality control. Under Faulkner, USM finished the season ranked fifth in Conference USA in scoring offense (26.6 points per game), next to last in rush offense (117.5 ypg), sixth in total offense (407) and first in pass offense (289.5).
"Thank you Coach Hop for allowing me to be apart of something special in Hattiesburg," Faulkner said in a tweet, thanking Hopson for the opportunity.
