TROY — Southern Miss quarterback Jack Abraham outdueled Troy’s Kaleb Barker with each throwing for career highs in USM’s 47-42 win over the Trojans on Saturday.
Abraham was 28-for-36 passing for 463 yards and two touchdowns, while Barker was 29-for-43 for a school-record 504 yards and four scores.
Abraham’s yards rank second on USM’s all-time list.
The teams combined for 1,018 yards passing.
Quez Watkins, after missing the first two games of the season for the Golden Eagles (2-1), had one of the biggest receiving games in school history.
