Southern Miss football will look to score its first bowl victory since 2016 when it takes on Rice in the LendingTree Bowl on Saturday in Mobile, Alabama.
The Golden Eagles (6-6, 4-4 SBC) arrived at six wins with a victory over Louisiana-Monroe on the road in their final game of the regular season. That win made them bowl eligible for the first time since 2019, when they lost to a Tulane team with an offense run by Will Hall.
Hall is now at the head of the Southern Miss program, having doubled his win total from his first season in charge in 2021.
