Southern Miss' football game Friday against UTEP has been canceled due to the suspension of team activities within the Miners' football program because of COVID-19 precautions.
Sunday's announcement means that the Golden Eagles will have their games canceled for the second straight week after last Friday's game against UAB was canceled because of COVID-19 precautions within USM.
The Golden Eagles are scheduled to conclude their regular season Dec. 10 when they host Florida Atlantic. USM (2-7, 1-4 C-USA) was originally scheduled to play FAU on Oct. 10, but that game was postponed because of COVID issues within the Owls' program.
