Southern Miss football's best offensive performance of the season helped the Golden Eagles secure their first three-game winning streak since the 2019 season.
The Golden Eagles downed the defending Sun Belt Conference champion Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, 39-24 picking up their fifth win six games. In the second year of coach Will Hall's tenure, USM is now one win away from becoming bowl eligible for the first time in three years.
Southern Miss (5-3, 3-1 SBC) did most of its scoring work in the first half, managing only three offensive second-half points. But that was enough to support a defense that surrendered 439 total yards to Louisiana (4-4 2-3), but showed resilience while playing in its own territory.
