The Southern Miss Golden Eagles delivered an overwhelming second-half performance Saturday en route to a 38-10 victory over Alcorn State at M.M. Roberts Stadium.
With the win, Southern Miss (1-0) improved to 66-36 in season openers, 8-0 all-time against schools from the Southwestern Athletic Conference and 3-0 against Alcorn State.
Southern Miss quarterback Jack Abraham finished the game, going 18-of-28 for 293 yards, two touchdowns and one interception off a tipped pass by a Braves' defender. Southern Miss finished with 389 yards of offense.
Alcorn State finished with 219 yards of offense.
