MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Southern Miss baseball will be out to score a victory to start the Sun Belt Conference tournament when it takes on James Madison at Riverfront Park Wednesday.
The Golden Eagles (37-16) are one of the hottest teams in all of college baseball, having won 15 out of their final 16 regular-season games down the stretch of Scott Berry's last campaign as head coach. That was good enough to earn Southern Miss a second-place finish in its inaugural season in the Sun Belt.
James Madison (31-23) will oppose the Golden Eagles, having won the right to do so by topping Old Dominion on Tuesday in the opening game of the event.
