Scott Berry, the winningest coach in Southern Miss baseball history, announced Tuesday he will retire at the end of the 2023 season.
Berry, 60, has a 517-271-1 record heading into the Golden Eagles' final regular-season series against Louisiana on Thursday. Southern Miss (35-15, 20-7 Sun Belt) looks to extend its 13-game winning streak against the Ragin' Cajuns.
"I could coach baseball forever," Berry released in a statement. "However, life continues to remind me our time is precious. For the past 23 years, it has been my honor to work at the University of Southern Mississippi.
