HATTIESBURG — Southern Miss baseball has signed Eastern Connecticut State transfer reliever Billy Oldham, according to USM head coach Scott Berry.
The addition was first reported by Pine Belt News.
Oldham is fresh off winning the NCAA Division III National Championship in his third season with the Warriors.
He started 15 games for Eastern Connecticut State during the title-winning campaign, pitching to a 2.58 ERA.
Oldham struck out 120 batters in 96 innings, walking 24 hitters and limiting opponents to a .217 batting average.
Berry noted that he and pitching coach Christian Ostrander liked Oldham's ability to fill up the zone when he watched his film.
