One of the most glaring vacancies on the Southern Miss depth chart entering spring camp was left tackle.
Enter Jerry Harris.
The Golden Eagle redshirt senior has spent the majority of his collegiate career as a bit of a journeyman. After arriving in Hattiesburg as a defensive lineman, the 6-foot-3, 291-pounder bounced around, taking snaps at four of the five slots along the offensive line. In 2016, Harris even saw time back on the defensive line in a couple of games.
But since spring camp began, Harris looks to have finally found a permanent home protecting the quarterback’s blind side.
