The merry-go-round of Louisiana-Monroe coordinators position came to a stop almost as soon as it got started on Thursday.
ULM is set to hire former Southern Miss coach Jay Hopson as its defensive coordinator, according to FootballScoop and other reports. The reports came the same day Zac Alley was announced as Rich Rodriguez's defensive coordinator at Jacksonville State.
Rodriguez and Alley both coached at ULM this past season, when the Warhawks finished 4-8 on year after going 0-10. Alley, 28, spent one season at ULM and was the youngest defensive coordinator in FBS.
Hopson, 53, has coached at Alcorn State (2012-15), Southern Miss (2016-20) and spent this season as a defensive analyst on Mike Leach's staff at Mississippi State.
