The Golden Eagles (4-3, 2-1 Sun Belt Conference) surpassed the .500 threshold with a win 20-14 win over Texas State (3-5, 1-3) in San Marcos on Saturday.

The Southern Miss offense was about 30 seconds away from a failing grade, then Zach Wilcke shuffled to his right like a shortstop and threw off one foot to an open Chandler Pittman, who cut infield for a 53-yard touchdown.
