HATTIESBURG - As the 2015 season played out at Southern Miss, head coach Todd Monken was routinely asked about the factors that led to his team’s successful campaign.
Chief among his answers most often has been the Golden Eagles’ increased roster depth, which is true in most cases. But there were a couple of position groups (receivers and cornerbacks) that couldn’t afford hits,, and fortunately, those didn't.
“I think where we were thin, we stayed healthy,” Monken said. “I think that was probably the biggest thing. Other than Mike (Thomas) missing the Austin Peay game, we didn’t miss any games at receiver.
