Delmond Landry's mind has been made up for a while.
But the Southwest Mississippi Community College defensive lineman made his intentions known this week when he publicly acknowledged his verbal commitment to Southern Miss. The 6-foot-4, 305-pound Donaldsonville, Louisiana, native confirmed his pledge to the Hattiesburg American on Wednesday.
"I was committed to Southern Miss for about two months, but I didn't really tell anybody until this week," said Landry, who noted he's also drawn interest from Purdue, Western Kentucky and Kansas State, among others. "Southern Miss, they definitely treat you like family. It's all love."
Landry, who will enroll at Southern Miss in January, primarily lined up at defensive tackle for Southwest as a sophomore this season, notching 44 tackles, including five for loss and one sack.
