For the first time this offseason, Golden Eagles put on helmets and pads, and had an official football scrimmage Saturday morning.
The 90-minute exhibition took place at Carlisle Field at M.M. Roberts Stadium, led by fifth-year head coach Jay Hopson.
"It was a good day. It really was," Hopson said. "We made some big plays, created some turnovers. I think our tackling started off a little slow but as the scrimmage went on, I thought it got better and better."
Senior Zach Portlock had a tackle for a loss, a sack and an interception. Junior Dominic Quewon had two sacks.
