HATTIESBURG — With Kwadra Griggs suspended and Keon Howard transferred away, Southern Miss has no returning experience at quarterback for its season-opener against Jackson State on Saturday. But coaches Jay Hopson and Shannon Dawson seem to have picked their guy.
Redshirt sophomore junior college transfer Jack Abraham has the edge to earn the starting quarterback job for this weekend's game, Hopson said in his weekly press conference on Monday.
